Wholesale Trade Sales & Inventories Up Slightly in June

Washington, DC, August 11, 2015—June 2015 sales of merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, were $449.9 billion, up 0.1% from the revised May level but down 3.8% from the June 2014 level, the U.S. Census Bureau has announced.

Total inventories of merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, were $586.2 billion at the end of June, up 0.9% from the revised May level and up 5.4% from the June 2014 level.

The June inventories/sales ratio for merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, based on seasonally adjusted data, was 1.30. The June 2014 ratio was 1.19.
