Wages & Salaries Rise 0.2%, Slowest Pace on Record

Washington, DC, July 31, 2015—Wages and salaries in the U.S. rose 0.2% in the second quarter, according to the Labor Department.

This is the slowest pace on record, and the smallest increase since records began in 1982.

It followed a 0.7% increase in the first quarter.

The agency’s employment cost index, which also includes benefits, also rose 0.2% in the second quarter.
