U.S. Chain Retailers Up Number of Planned Stores for Next Two Years

New York, NY, October 5, 2015—U.S. chain retailers have increased the number of stores that they plan to open in the short term, reports National Real Estate Investor (NREI).

As of the latest count, there are 42,554 stores on the planning board for the next year and 79,655 stores on the planning board for the next two years, representing year-to-date increases of 4.1% and 4.2% respectively.

Retailers that planned to open the most stores over the next 24 month remained virtually unchanged: Subway, Dollar General, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Family Dollar and Pizza Hut.
