Storm Sends Lowe's Sales, Income Higher

Mooresville, NC, Nov. 19, 2012 -- Lowe's reported third quarter net income rose to $396 million, or $0.35 per share, from $225 million, or $0.18 per share, a year earlier.

Preparation and rebuilding due to superstorm Sandy increased sales, the company said.

Sales rose 1.9% to $12.1 billion in the third quarter ended November 2, ahead of the expected $11.9 billion.
