Productivity Falls 1.9% in Q1 on Heels of 2.1% Drop in Previous Quarter

Washington, DC, May 6, 2015—Productivity in the U.S. decreased at a 1.9% annualized rate in the first quarter, following a revised 2.1% drop in the prior three months, according to the Labor Department.

This marks the largest back-to-back decline in more than two decades.

Expenses per worker increased at a 5% pace.
