November Retail Sales Edged Upward

Washington, DC, December 11, 2015—Advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales for November were $448.1 billion, an increase of 0.2% from the previous month, and 1.4% above November 2014, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Total sales for the September 2015 through November 2015 period were up 1.7% from the same period a year ago. The September 2015 to October 2015 percent change was unrevised from +0.1%.

Retail trade sales were up 0.2% from October 2015, and up 0.7% above last year. Nonstore retailers were up 7.3% from November 2014 and food services and drinking places were up 6.5% from last year.
