Jaipur Earns Nomination for German Design Award

Norcross, GA, September 23, 2015—Jaipur Rugs has been nominated for the prestigious German Design Award.

The award is the premium prize of the German Design Council, an internationally active institution committed to discovering, presenting and awarding unique design trends. Established in 2012, it is already one of the of the best-known design competitions in the world and is held in high regard in professional circles and beyond. Winners will be announced next month.

Jaipur Rugs is a contender for the German Design Award in the Excellent Product Design category for the Anthar rug from its Project Error Collection.

The collection focuses on what Kavita (Kavi) Chaudhary, director of design and development at Jaipur, refers to “as nature’s mistakes, the misprints and aberrations that would normally be tossed out.” Yet, these blunders are works of art rather than gaffes, and the new patterns that result are forms of unintentional expression.
