Washington, DC, Dec. 27, 2012 -- U.S. home prices in October were up 4.3% over a year ago, although they were lower than in September, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller 20-city index.
The index posted a 0.1% decrease in October from September but the annual increase was the largest since May of 2012.
Other recent housing data have also shown a market that is gaining strength.
