Home Prices Increase in January

New York, NY, March 29, 2016 -- Home prices rose in January, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller index.

Prices in 20 major metropolitan areas rose 0.8% from December, and 5.75% over a year ago, as supply remained constrained.

"Economic growth hasn't been overwhelming, but it has been consistent, and as long as wages and job opportunities keep rising, the housing market should remain fairly stable and healthy," Zillow Chief Economist Svenja Gudell said in a press release.
