Flooring Industry Veteran Frank Procopio Dies

Atlanta, GA, January 6, 2016--Flooring industry veteran Frank A. Procopio passed away December 30, 2015, surrounded by his family after a battle with a terminal neurological disease (SCA).

He was born August 26, 1939 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania to Mary and Vincent Procopio.

Upon graduation from college, Procopio accepted a position as a chemist with Armstrong World Industries in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He then joined Mohawk Industries in 1981. Throughout his 20-year career with the company, Frank held multiple senior leadership positions in manufacturing, sales and product development. Ultimately, Frank became president of Mohawk’s commercial business, executive vice president of the company and held a seat on the board of directors. He was a member of the management team that led the LBO of Mohawk Carpet from the Mohasco Corporation in 1988 and the subsequent IPO of Mohawk Industries in 1992.
