DuPont Receives Bio Business Award for Sorona

Amsterdam, NL, March 3, 2015—DuPont received the 2015 Bio Business Award for Breakthrough Bio-Based Technology Platform for its Sorona biopolymer at the World Bio Markets Conference awards ceremony in Amsterdam.

Sorona is the brand name for a high performance triexta fiber that contains 37% renewable plant-based ingredients, uses 30% less energy, and releases 63% fewer greenhouses gas emissions compared to nylon 6.

In the U.S. residential carpet market, Sorona is sold exclusively to Mohawk and marketed under the Smartstrand brand.
