Domotex Asia/Chinafloor Attendance Up

Shanghai, China, April 7, 2015— Domotex Asia/Chinafloor has released statistics on its 2015 show, which was held March 24 to 26 in Shanghai.

This year, visitors totaled 46,115, up almost 10% over 2014. Of this number, 11,374 came from countries outside of China.

In addition, 1,275 exhibitors from 38 countries participated for a total of 140,000 square meters of exhibition space in 12 halls.

One key buyer who attends the show every year told FloorDaily that participation was down among European and U.S. visitors due to to the strengh of the dollar. The value of the Chinese yuan is closely tied to the dollar, so when the dollar is strong, Chinese made goods are less competitive. Another factor is the continued concern over the impending duties for Chinese made engineered hardwood.

Nine countries hosted pavillions showcasing products and services from Afghanistan, Belgium, Germany, India, Iran, Netherlands, Nepal, Pakistan and the United States.

Sixty-percent of exhibition space was rebooked for 2016.
