Consumer Spending Falls in December

Washington, DC, Feb. 2, 2015 -- Consumer spending fell in December a seasonally adjusted 0.3% from the prior month, the Commerce Department said.

That matched economists' expectations. November spending was revised down to a 0.5% gain from the initially estimated 0.6% increase.

Meanwhile, personal income increased 0.3%. Real disposable income rose 0.5% in December.
