Consumer Confidence Edges Down in September

New York, NY, Sept. 24, 2013 -- Consumer confidence fell slightly in September from August, according to the Conference Board.

The private research group said its consumer confidence index dropped to 79.7 in September, down from August's reading of 81.8.

A reading of 90 typically coincides with a healthy economy.

Confidence fell on concerns about jobs and wages.
