Construction Spending Rose 2.2% in April to 6.5 Year High

Washington, DC, June 1, 2015—U.S. construction spending increased 2.2% in April to the highest level in nearly six-and-a-half years, according to the Commerce Department.

Construction spending jumped to an annual rate of $1.0 trillion, the highest level since November 2008.

The percent increase was the largest since May 2012.
