Construction Spending Edges Up in February

Washington, DC, April 1, 2014 -- Construction spending ticked up in February, according to the Commerce Department.

Spending rose 0.1% to an adjusted annual rate of $945.7 billion. That was also up 8.7% from a year ago.

The increase in February came from a 1.2% increase in nonresidential projects, while residential construction dropped 0.8%, the biggest setback since July.
