CAP Releases Report on Uneven Housing Recovery

Washington, DC, November 3, 2015—Eight years after home prices collapsed in 2007, about 7.5 million American homeowners are still underwater, according to Center for American Progress’ report The Uneven Housing Recovery. 

Even though home values have continued to rise and the national percentage of homeowners with negative equity is down from 30% in the second quarter of 2011 to 15% in the first quarter of 2015, there is still much work to be done in order for the market to fully recover, says the organization.
