Bentley Recognized by DOE for Energy Savings

Industry, CA, October 16, 2015—Bentley Mills is one of nine manufacturers recently recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) for its energy savings accomplishments.

After joining DOE's Better Plants initiative in 2010, Bentley pledged to improve energy intensity by 25% at its Industry City, California carpet mill by 2020. It successfully realized this reduction in 2014—six years ahead of schedule. 

But Bentley isn’t stopping there. The company recently signed on for the Better Plants Challenge, setting a new goal to achieve an additional 25% improvement in energy intensity over the next ten years while also pledging to be transparent in its energy performance data and energy-efficiency solutions. 

Manufacturers in the Better Buildings, Better Plants Program have racked up an estimated $2.4 billion in cumulative energy cost savings over the last five years, according to a recent DOE announcement.
