30-Year Mortgage Rate Near Two-Year High

Washington, DC, July 11, 2013 -- The interest rate for a 30-year mortgage rose to its highest level in nearly two years this week, according Freddie Mac.

Freddie Mac said rates increased 0.22 percentage point to 4.51% for a 30-year, fixed-rate loan, the highest it has been since the week of July 28, 2011.

The rate for a 15-year mortgage hit 3.53%, up 0.14 percentage point.
