Xpress Global Acquires Pacific Coast Distributors

Chattanooga, TN, February 15, 2022-Chattanooga-based trucking company Xpress Global Systems is buying the assets of Oregon-based Pacific Coast Distributors, a family-owned and operated third-party logistics provider with anchors in Portland, Oregon, and Seattle and Spokane, Washington, reports the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

“The purchase includes workforce agreements, equipment, service vehicles and leases of current facilities and will strengthen the Xpress Global Systems footprint across the region and ensure continuity to customers of Pacific Coast Distributors, company officials said in an announcement of the deal Monday.

“The purchase is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Xpress Global Systems. In the summer of 2021, the company assumed ownership of 7 Hills Transport out of Cartersville, Georgia, as well as Michigan Carpet/Delta Distribution, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

“Combined, the three purchases represent an aggressive growth strategy pursued by XGS across the Southeast, Midwest and now the Northwestern United States, said Dan Krasnow, a principal at Aterian Investment Partners, a private investment firm that bought Xpress Global Systems in 2018.

“Xpress Global Systems specializes in the nationwide transportation of floor overings. The company was founded in 1985 and sold to Aterian three years after the Chattanooga-based trucking company was spun off from U.S. Xpress Enterprises.”
