WSLA Alumnae Group to Host Tenth Annual Awards Ceremony

Norwalk, CT, February 2, 2024-Culminating the GreenBiz24 conference, The Women in Sustainability Leadership Awards (WSLA) Alumnae Group will host the tenth annual in-person and virtual WSLA Awards ceremony February 14 at 6:00 PM MST at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The tenth  class of 2024 winners will join a network of over 100 past winners whose mission is to advance, honor, and connect the most powerful women at the forefront of sustainability who are making a difference in the world by initiating lasting change.

The WSLA Awards will feature opening words from noted curandera (traditional healer) Felicia Cocotzin  Ruiz, an indigenous activist recognized for her work with food and lifestyle as medicine. In an audience-interactive circle symbolic of unity, Ruiz will apply her indigenous spiritual knowledge in a collective lesson about keeping balance and peace aligned with achieving a sense of wellness and security, for both individuals and the planet.

GreenBiz Editor and WSLA Alumnae group board member Heather Clancy will moderate the fireside chat “The Intersection of Women, Climate & Health” in conversation with WSLA honoree Monica Nakielski,  a sustainability practitioner and consultant to major healthcare organizations including Advocate Aurora Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and Mass General Brigham Hospital. Together they will explore how healthcare providers prioritize sustainability to address chemicals of concern and medical waste, the implications of climate change for the future of medical care, and why women are particularly vulnerable.
