Transcripts of Flooring-Related Chinese Tariff Testimony Released

Washington, DC, August 30, 2018-The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) has released official transcripts of testimony related to the USTR’s investigation of China under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 and proposed 25% tariff.

Tuesday’s mid-afternoon session consisted mostly of flooring companies and included, respectively, The Tile Council of North America, Bedrosians, Mohawk, Congoleum, MSI testified.

A list of the flooring companies that united against the tariffs under the American Consumers & Workers Justice Coalition (ACWJC) is available here. Harlan Stone, CEO with Halstead and MetroFlor, spoke on behalf of the ACWJC.

Mohawk, Congoleum and the Tile Council of North America testified in support of the tariffs.
