U.S. Added 1.2M New Unemployment Claims Last Week of July

Washington, DC, August 6, 2020-In the week ending August 1, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 1,186,000, a decrease of 249,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 1,434,000 to 1,435,000. The four-week moving average was 1,337,750, a decrease of 31,000 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 1,368,500 to 1,368,750.
