UPS Canada Employees Walk Out

Vancouver, November 23 - United Parcel Service's Canadian employees were on strike Monday, threatening disruptions to the Christmas season, according to CBC News. The Teamsters Union said the 3,800 UPS employees it represented had refused last week the company's offer in the negotiation of a new collective agreement. UPS, which called the strike "unwarranted," said it would deliver all packages already in transit. But the company on Friday suspended all customer pickups within Canada, as well as ground shipments into the country. UPS would continue to deliver worldwide, the company said. Both the Teamsters and UPS said their websites would carry updates on the strike.
