United Surface Solutions to Idle SPC Production in Chatsworth

Chatsworth, GA, September 12, 2025-United Surface Solutions, a manufacturer of decorative SPC products for residential and commercial applications, is idling production and reducing staff at its Chatsworth, Georgia facility.

The 400,000-square-foot facility, which was formerly Beaulieu of America’s commercial carpet mill, was completely repurposed into a state of art LVT plant in 2021. The move will impact approximately 112 personnel. 

United Surface Solutions was one of the first U.S.-owned and operated producers of SPC. 

“Our intention with this investment was to ensure that Northwest Georgia would continue to be the ‘hub’ for the next generation of flooring. USS faced two primary challenges: persistently low import prices, which have made it increasingly difficult to remain competitive, and unfavorable market conditions, particularly in the housing sector, which significantly impacted demand. These factors have made continued operations unsustainable. Our plan is to idle the facility as we explore strategic options.
