Unemployment Claims Fell Last Week

Washington, DC, June 20, 2019-In the week ending June 15, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 216,000, a decrease of 6,000 from the previous week's unrevised level of 222,000. 

The four-week moving average was 218,750, an increase of 1,000 from the previous week's unrevised average of 217,750.

The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.2% for the week ending June 8, unchanged from the previous week's unrevised rate. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending June 8 was 1,662,000, a decrease of 37,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up 4,000 from 1,695,000 to 1,699,000. The four-week moving average was 1,679,000, a decrease of 5,250 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 1,000 from 1,683,250 to 1,684,250.
