UK Retailer Floors-2-Go Announces Expansion Plans

Birmingham, England, December 22-- A UK flooring company has announced plans to open up to 10 new stores in Northern Ireland, creating more than 50 jobs. The move by Floors-2-Go is part of a UK-wide expansion. The company, a specialist in laminate and hardwood flooring, has appointed Belfast commercial property agent Lisney to secure sites for the new stores. Lisney director Eamonn Murphy said the company is initially looking at Belfast, Lisburn and Newry. "Floors-2-Go operates superstores in prime roadside and retail park locations across England, Wales and Scotland and is looking for similar sites, ranging from 3,000-6,500 sq ft, in Northern Ireland. The company has its sights set initially on the east, particularly Greater Belfast, Lisburn and Newry, with further locations earmarked throughout Northern Ireland. David Vizor of Floors-2-Go said the firm has grown from a family-run operation founded in 1999 into the leading player in the UK market. "Floors-2-Go was established only five years ago and has expanded from our Birmingham base across Great Britain and currently has 120 stores. "We plan to open another 25-30 stores in 2005, and have our sights set firmly on Northern Ireland." Floors-2-Go was floated on the Alternative Investment Market earlier this year.
