Try-Con Tufters Announces $5M Georgia Expansion, Adding 104 Jobs

Atlanta, GA, June 12, 2020-High-end carpet producer Try-Con Tufters has announced it will invest $5 million into expanding its commercial manufacturing operations in North Georgia.

It was welcome news for the state as the nation’s economy still struggles amid the virus-induced economic slowdown as well as a decline in carpet consumption in the flooring market. “Try-Con Tufters has been a first-rate employer in Chattooga County for 15 years,” Gov. Brian Kemp said in a statement. “And we’re glad that Georgia has been able to provide the workforce necessary for their growth.”

Established in 2005 and based in Lyerly, Georgia, Try-Con Tufters specializes in making carpets for hospitality and contract customers. Once complete, the expansion will allow Try-Con to nearly double its workforce by adding more than 100 jobs. New job opportunities include operators, menders and creelers.

“Try-Con is very appreciative of the state of Georgia, the Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority, and Chattooga County for allowing us to grow and expand our business,” says Try-Con Tufters CEO, Milford Morgan. “… This expansion will ensure our presence in Chattooga County for many years to come.”
