Trade Deficit Widened by $2.7 Billion in February
Washington, DC, April 2, 2026-The goods and services deficit was $57.3 billion in February, up $2.7 billion from $54.7 billion in January, revised, the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis announced.
February exports were $314.8 billion, $12.6 billion more than January exports. February imports were $372.1 billion, $15.2 billion more than January imports.
The February increase in the goods and services deficit reflected an increase in the goods deficit of $2.5 billion to $84.6 billion and a decrease in the services surplus of $0.2 billion to $27.3 billion.
Year-to-date, the goods and services deficit decreased $136.1 billion, or 54.8%, from the same period in 2025. Exports increased $62.6 billion or 11.3%. Imports decreased $73.5 billion or 9.2%.
