Texas Home Community to be Built with Near Zero-Carbon Cement
Round Top, TX, July 10, 2023-Eco Material Technologies and Hive 3D have announced what they claim is the first community of homes built using additive construction with near zero-carbon cement, reports Daily Commercial News.
“The community, the Casitas @ The Halles, to rise near Round Top, Texas, is a collection of homes ranging from 400 to 900 square feet featuring studio, single-bedroom and two-bedroom models.
“Eco Material is a producer of sustainable cementitious materials. Hive 3D is active in sustainable additive construction, also known as 3D printing.
“Hive 3D will use Eco Material’s cement product called PozzoCEM Vite to build the homes. Previously, Hive 3D created a 3,150-square-foot home using Eco Material’s near-zero PozzoSlag.
PozzoSlag replaces 50% of the portland cement in concrete and has been used in roads and bridges in Texas for over a decade. PozzCEM Vite replaces 100% of portland cement in concrete, has 92% lower emissions and sets faster than traditional Portland cement.”
