Tarkett Acquires Vinylasa, Will Transition All VCT Production to Mexico

Solon, OH, October 19, 2021-Tarkett has completed the acquisition of Vinylasa, a vinyl composite tile (VCT) manufacturer based in Mexico City, Mexico, which specializes in manufacturing through-patterned VCT tiles.

By the end of 2021, Tarkett will transition its VCT manufacturing program from its current Florence, Alabama location to the Vinylasa location in Mexico, with all VCT products for Tarkett North America manufactured at the Mexico City location beginning in 2022. 

This move will enable to Florence facility to focus on LVT production. 

Commenting on the news, Eric Daliere, president and CEO, Tarkett North America and Tarkett Sports, said, “Vinylasa is known for great quality and service. With this acquisition, we are improving our VCT product offering, service levels, and competitiveness. At the same time, we are creating space and focus on domestic LVT production at our Florence campus. We’re pleased to welcome the Vinylasa team to Tarkett.”

On October 22, Tarkett North America will introduce its first VCT collection manufactured in the Mexico City facility.

Vinylasa was started by a father and son, both named Antonio Kanan, who sold the business to Tarkett.
