Dalton, July 2--Sphinx by Oriental Weavers will introduce nine new collections at the Atlanta Rug Market this month. Sphinx showcases modern color combinations and attention to detail in each rug, adding new dimensions to existing Sphinx collections.
The English Garden Collection mixes traditional floral patterns, tropical motifs, contemporary colors and detailed hand carving providing consumers with a casual, floral appeal. Machine-made in Egypt of 100 percent heat-set polypropylene, this collection will retail for $299 (5’3”x7’9”).
Using the same construction as The English Garden Collection, the new Fusion Collection utilizes bold shapes, lines and hand carving to create ultra-contemporary, ultra-stylish options for floor covering. Circles, spirals and squares are common themes of the Fusion Collection, all used to deliver a fun and tasteful display in home décor. This collection will retail for $299 (5’3” x7’9”).
The Kona Collection takes consumers to an island paradise. Vibrant tropical birds of paradise and palm leaves stand out on more neutral backgrounds. These rugs are an elegant choice for those who want to add a Hawaiian and botanical feel to any home. Machine-made in Egypt of 100 percent heat-set polypropylene with special drop-stitched textures, the Kona Collection will retail for $199 (5’3”x7’9”).
The machine-made Oceans Collections blends tranquil shades of blue, green, taupe and lilac coloring. All of the above machine-made collections will be offered in a variety of sizes, ranging from 2’x3” to 10’x13”.

Sphinx has taken 100 percent fine natural wool, sorted it by shade and washed and spun its natural colors to create this simple and affordable collection. No dyes or bleaches are used in these rugs. Handloomed in India, the Au Natural Collection feature 100 percent wool pile with an all cotton backing and will retail for $299 (5’6”x8’6”).
The handmade Coronation Collection is inspired by European palaces. These ornate Savonnerrie and Aubusson designs bring a classic elegance to any décor. Intricately handcrafted, each piece is individually tufted by hand, sheared, carved and finished. Hand washing adds a subtle sheen to the wool. Made in China, this collection will retail for $759 (5’6”x8’6”).
The Tara Collection features delicately shaded florals that will add poise to any room. Completely hand-tufted, carved, serged and finished, the Tara Collection is handmade in China of 100 percent wool. Rugs in this collection will retail for $459 (5’6”x8’6”).
