Sleepyhead’s Feltex Bid Expected Soon

Wellington, New Zealand, September 5, 2006--Carpet maker Feltex says there is still no offer from the Turner brothers for the financially troubled company, according to IRN News. Sleepyhead Beds directors Graeme and Craig Turner have indicated they will make a bid by the end of this week. The rival bid is one of the reasons why Australian carpet maker Godfrey Hirst is delaying signing off its $141.8 million offer. Meanwhile the ANZ Bank, which is owed $128 million, is putting pressure on Feltex to finalise a deal. The Bank yesterday threatened to call in the loan unless a formal sales agreement was completed.
