TMT America Sells HPS Schönox Distribution Rights to Sika

Baar, Switzerland, March 4, 2025-Sika has fully acquired HPS North America, a supplier of building finishing materials. HPS distributes Schönox branded products, manufactured by Sika Germany, in the U.S. market. Fully integrating this business into Sika USA will create a strong platform for further expansion in the building finishing segment and lead to significant efficiency gains.

In 2011, after selling Centiva to Tarkett, Thomas Trissl negotiated an agreement to launch and  build Schönox’ business in America. At the time, Schönox had a strong business in Europe but had not sold its products in America. Trissl has agreed to serve as a consultant to Sika during this transition.

HPS has developed the business over the past years, significantly growing both sales and profitability. The products, which include self-leveling and waterproofing solutions, are sold via a network of distribution partners and are mainly used in flooring applications.

“We promised Schönox GmbH in Germany that we would make the Schönox brand top-of-mind and trusted by flooring professionals, readily available from coast to coast, and supported by an outstanding technical and logistics team,” commented Thomas Trissl, TMT America President.  “Having reached these critical milestones and with an infrastructure positioned for growth firmly in place, it was the optimal time to transition the business to Sika.”

Since the acquisition of Parex, Sika has continuously increased its presence in the building finishing segment in the USA. By acquiring HPS, Sika will further expand its position in this growing market segment. Until today, Sika has held a minority participation in the company and is now acquiring the remaining stake. Fully consolidating this business under the Sika ownership will provide exciting cross-selling opportunities in the flooring Industry and bring significant efficiency gains in logistics and production.
