Shaw to Shutter Clinton, SC Engineered Hardwood Plant

Clinton, SC, June 25, 2019-Shaw Industries will close its Clinton, South Carolina engineered hardwood flooring plant on August 24, according to WSPA.

The company says the move is being made to “most effectively meet customer needs.”

Production will move to other Shaw operations in the Southeast.

This follows Shaw’s sale of two North Carolina solid hardwood facilities in March and the closure of another solid facility in Stuart, Virginia in 2017. This Clinton SC plant was Anderson's primary and newest production facility which it commissioned after a fire in October of 2006. Shaw bought Anderson in early 2008.

The company says the 120 people currently employed at the factory will be the opportunity to apply for open positions at Shaw’s other locations in South Carolina and throughout the United States.
