Report: Women Make Up 46% of Renovation Customers

San Diego, CA, November 4, 2005--Renovation Experts.com, a network of over 3,000 home improvement contractors, released customer profile data today showing that over 46% of their customers are women. Renovation Experts.com directly contacted a random sampling of 948 customers by phone to determine additional details about the home improvement project these homeowners had submitted online. Projects ranged from small bathroom remodeling and kitchen remodeling to larger home improvement repair projects such as full-scale remodels and room additions. This home improvement data confirms what national statistics have been showing. According to a recent study conducted by the Home Improvement Research Institute, women account for more than $70 billion worth of purchases in the home improvement industry, up from just over $55 billion in 1995. "We are encouraged by this data, as it confirms our belief that home improvement is becoming easier to access and that sites such as ours, that are both educational and functional, are assisting both men and women to carry out a home improvement project and hire a local contractor," said company president Craig Lucas. In line with its recent findings, Renovation Experts.com released an article entitled "Women and Home Improvement". The article notes trades such as bathroom remodeling and kitchen remodeling where women are taking the lead.
