Reliance Hardwood Flooring to See Increased Production

Clarion, PA, May 10, 2022-Lewis Lumber and Milling, which takes its unfinished hardwood flooring to market under Reliance Hardwood Flooring, is establishing its second manufacturing operation, to be located in Clarion County, Pennsylvania.

An announcement from Gov. Tom Wolf said the move will create 100 new jobs.

The selected site was formerly a Sealy mattress plant. The company’s investment--including building renovations, new construction, and machinery and equipment--is valued at approximately $15.2 million over the next three years.

Lewis Lumber received financial support from the state, including a $340,000 Pennsylvania First grant and a $200,000 workforce development grant.

Founded in 2011 in Tennessee, Lewis Lumber is a family-owned business with three generations of lumber business experience helping to create high-quality plank hardwood flooring and cabinet moldings.

COO Tom Edwards noted Pennsylvania's ability to provide "a completely different species and population of trees--Northern red oaks, white oak and white hard maple--that we need for our product lines."
