Q3 GDP Increased to 2.1% in Second Estimate

Washington, DC, November 24, 2021-Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 2.1% in Q3, according to the second estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the second quarter, real GDP increased 6.7%.

The GDP estimate released today is based on more complete source data than were available for the first estimate issued last month. In the advance estimate, the increase in real GDP was 2.0%. The update primarily reflects upward revisions to personal consumption expenditures and private inventory investment.
