Producer Prices Declined 0.4% in March
Washington, DC, April 11, 2025-- The Producer Price Index for final demand decreased 0.4% in March, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported.
Final demand prices increased 0.1% in February and 0.6% in January.
On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand advanced 2.7% for the 12 months ended in March.
In March, over 70% of the decrease in the index for final demand can be traced to prices for final demand goods, which fell 0.9%. The index for final demand services declined 0.2%.
Prices for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services edged up 0.1% in March after increasing 0.4% in each of the previous three months. For the 12 months ended in March, the index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services advanced 3.4%.
