Premier Flooring Acquires Sam Kinnaird's Flooring
Louisville, KY, October 4, 2023-Sam Kinnaird’s Flooring, based in Louisville, Kentucky, has sold controlling interest of its retail business to the builder flooring brand Premier Flooring to continue to grow its retail operation. Since 1968, Sam Kinnaird’s has been one of the largest flooring companies in the greater Louisville area.
With the merger, Premier Flooring will grow its retail footprint to include one location in Lexington and two locations in Louisville under the Sam Kinnaird’s brand. Premier Flooring is the largest Kentucky-based flooring company serving contractors and builders.
Founded in 2015, Premier Flooring serves contractors and builders across Louisville, Lexington, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and beyond.
Jim and Donna Mudd bought Sam Kinnaird's Flooring from Sam Kinnaird in 1989.
Per the bylaws of the National Floorcovering Alliance, of which Sam Kinnaird's was a member, when controlling interest of a member changes hands, membership is terminated. Jim Mudd was past president of the NFA.
31st Street Capital acquired Premier in August 2022.
