Piet Dossche Retires Day to Day, Transitions to Shaw Board of Directors

Dalton, GA November 11, 2020-Shaw Industries announces the retirement of Piet Dossche from his day-to-day management responsibilities at the company, effective December 31. The founder of USFloors, acquired by Shaw in late 2016, will continue to be strategically engaged with Shaw as a member of its board of directors.

“Piet is transitioning from an operating role to a more strategic position. He will continue to be a trusted advisor on market trends, innovation, and opportunities across the global flooring market,” said Shaw chairman and CEO Vance Bell. “I am excited about this new role for Piet, and look forward to our continued partnership.”

Dossche has had an amazing career in the flooring industry. His aptitude and appetite for leadership were evident from early in his career. Just a few years out of college, at the age of 24, he became managing director of Beaulieu’s manufacturing plant in the U.K. Five years later, he would launch his first entrepreneurial effort. Dossche did so again in 2001, after an executive and leadership decade at Beaulieu of America, when he founded USFloors most notable for its creation of Coretec, which fueled the company’s dramatic growth.

As president of USFloors and executive vice president of Shaw, Dossche was an entrepreneurial change agent helping drive strategic, profitable growth across the company. He was a key architect and partner with Shaw’s residential leadership, creating the recent sales structure transformation. Dossche has been instrumental in Shaw’s rapid hard surface growth and has helped guide USFloors International to a growing market position in Europe.

Dossche was inducted to the World Floor Covering Association hall of fame in January. In commenting on this news story, Dossche said, "I don't like the word retire. I am not tired and I have plenty of energy to contribute to this industry."
