Sellers Acquired By International Consortium

Huddersfield, UK, May 15, 2019--A deal has been reached with administrators Philmore and Co. to purchase Sellers Global Engineers, which recently filed for administration. The deal secures the future for one of the world's leading manufacturers of carpet finishing machinery, which has operated in Huddersfield, England for 107 years. 

A consortium of investors has been put together by Charlie Armitage of Sellers of America and will operate under the name of Sellers Textile Engineers. Robert Scaife of Innovative Automation, a systems integrator and Automation specialists in Dalton, Georgia, brings a wealth of specialized technical knowledge to the board. Charlie Armitage who has been running Sellers of America in the states for the past 25 years will undertake the role of managing director. David Armitage brought his wealth of experience to the negotiations and will join the board in an advisory role. 

The Holding company of ETF Machinefabriek in The Netherlands-specialist in cutting, rolling, wrapping and material handling equipment for the floorcovering industry-represented by Ruud Koppens, completes the lineup as largest single investor.  

Longstanding Sellers employees Neil Miller and Danny Chambers join the board and will oversee technical and production departments respectively, in addition to existing sales roles.

 Dalton Georgia based Sellers of America was not part of the purchase and remains fully under the Armitage family ownership.
