Personal Income Rose 0.2% in October; Spending Also Up 0.2%
Washington, DC, November 30, 2023-Personal income increased $57.1 billion (0.2% at a monthly rate) in October, according to estimates released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Disposable personal income (DPI), personal income less personal current taxes, increased $63.4 billion (0.3%), and personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $41.2 billion (0.2%).
The PCE price index increased less than 0.1%. Excluding food and energy, the PCE price index increased 0.2%. Real DPI increased 0.3% in October, and real PCE increased 0.2%; goods increased 0.1%, and services increased 0.2%.
