Peninsula Floors and Floor Space Merge

Livermore, CA.Jan. 29--Peninsula Floors, Inc. and Floor Space, Inc. residential contract flooring companies, announced today that they have merged. The merger enables the new combined company to optimize resources, technology, and geographic coverage, that will make them the largest privately held residential contract flooring company in the U.S. supplying residential builders. Peninsula Floors, Inc (PFI), established in 1959, employs 550 people and has 24 locations throughout Nevada and California. In 1983, PFI opened the first builder exclusive Design Centre in Northern California. Since its opening, it has grown its Design Centre network to 17 locations. Having developed proprietary software, DesignPro, PFI is able to assist the builder in offering a sole source selection process for their customers. Customers are able to budget for their interior finishes via the Internet by accessing the Design Centre web site. Floor Space, established in 1988, has focused on improving service and increasing efficiency through technology, with design center software that educates customers and creates a buying profile that assists builders in predicting customer preferences. Customers can access the software at kiosks in Floor Space design centers, over the Internet, or on CD-ROM. The two Livermore-based companies have developed well-established reputations for delivering outstanding customer service to the builder community over the years.
