Pendley Re-Named Chair of CRI Board after Hutchins Steps Away

Dalton, GA, January 17, 2024-The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) announced Tom Pendley, president and CEO of Mannington Mills, will continue to serve as chair of The CRI board of directors in 2024 for a one-year term. Pendley has served as Board chair since 2022.

At its 2023 annual meeting, the CRI board named Tim Baucom, president and CEO of Shaw Industries, as board vice chair. At the CRI Policy Committee meeting on January 17, Paul De Cock, president or Mohawk Industries, was introduced as a new board member.

In November 2023, it was announced that Mohawk’s Curt Hutchins would take over as chairman, but Hutchins left Mohawk-and the flooring industry-to take a position as CEO of Sonny's, a Florida-based car wash.

This announcement comes after unanimous votes at the January meeting of The CRI Policy Committee.
