Omnova Solutions Posts Fourth Quarter Loss

Fairlawn, OH, Jan. 27, 2012 — Chemicals company Omnova Solutions reported a fourth quarter loss after 10 straight quarters of profit.

For September-November, Omnova posted a loss of $10.4 million, or $0.23 a share, compared to a profit of $85 million, or $1.80 a share, a year ago.

Revenue rose 45% to $301.4 million.

Sales at its performance chemicals business jumped 83%, boosted by contribution from French chemicals maker Eliokem International, which Omnova bought in 2010.
