Oil Prices Rise on Emerging Market Demand

New York, NY, July 6, 2011 — Oil prices rose to near $98 a barrel Wednesday on signs of stronger demand from emerging markets.

Benchmark oil for August delivery was up 81 cents to $97.70 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Oil has rebounded from near $90 last week.
