Nashville Airport Selling Squares of Distinctive Carpet

Nashville, TN, June 12, 2020-There’s good news for travelers of the Nashville International Airport: the distinctive carpet that lines its terminals is now available for purchase.

Starting Wednesday, the airport began offering 18”x30” doormats featuring the BNA logo on its website; they are $34.99 each. But for those who don’t want a doormat, the swirly carpet pattern is also available in various apparel options, including pants, hats and socks, at rayreidfashion.com.

The unassuming floorcovering gained internet fame in recent years and now has more than 27,000 followers on Instagram.

The removal of the carpet, which was installed in 2010, starts this year and is slated to be completed by 2023, according to news reports. By 2023, all the floors in the airport will be replaced with terrazzo or new carpet with a different pattern.

Several years ago, the Portland airport carpet also garnered social media attention as it was replaced by new carpeting produced by JJ Flooring.
