Mullican To Acquire Bluegrass Specialty Flooring

Johnson City, TN, Sept. 11--Mullican Flooring has signed a letter of intent to purchase Bluegrass Specialty Flooring of Bowling Green, KY, which manufactures solid unfinished red and white oak flooring, according to the Coalfield Progress. With the acquisition, Mullican Flooring will increase its ability to supply solid prefinished and unfinished flooring to its customers. "We believe that the acquisition of Bluegrass Specialty Flooring shows continued commitment to support the future sales growth of our distributors' businesses," Mullican chief executive officer Neil Poland said. "This acquisition along with the future planned expansion of the Bluegrass operation will further strengthen Mullican's ability as a major supplier of solid hardwood flooring products." Tim Craycroft, president of Bluegrass Specialty Flooring, will join Mullican Flooring and will continue to be responsible for the management of the Bluegrass operation. "Tim brings more than 30 years of manufacturing management expertise to our company and we look forward to his valuable insight into our pursuit of growing the Bluegrass operation," Poland said. Craycroft said he is "looking forward to the opportunity to be part of a leading hardwood flooring manufacturer and one that is focused on taking advantage of future growth opportunities."
