Mohawk and Engineered Floors Announce Price Increases

Chattanooga, TN, May 3, 2021-Mohawk and Engineered Floors have announced price increases. 

Mohawk will raise prices 5% to 9% on all product categories for soft and hard surfaces, with a minimum increase of $0.27 per square yard on carpet. In addition, it will increase freight rates on broadloom and carpet tile a minimum of $0.03 per square yard, and hard surface freight drop charges will increase by a minimum of $5.00. These increases will be effective for all orders entered on or after May 17 and for shipments on or after June 1. 

Engineered Floors announced an increase on residential carpet, LVT and main street commercial products, beginning May 17. Prices on carpet products will increase a minimum of $0.36 per square yard. Any orders placed prior to the increase date and not shipped by June 1 will also increase. 

These increases come as raw material prices are at record highs. According to sources, PVC straight resin increased 63% from November 2020 to April 2021, plasticizer increased 89%, and paste resin for G/F increased 39%. Increases are expected to continue.
